New ISIS Video Shows Kurdish Captives Being Paraded On The Streets Locked In Cages

A new video was posted by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) jihadist group, showing Kurdish peshmerga soldiers being paraded on the streets of Iraq as they are locked in individual cages.

According to reports, the video lasted for less than ten minutes and according to analysts, there were at least 21 soldiers shown in the video.

It was also shown that while the group paraded the streets of Kirkuk, Iraq, some of the psehmerga fighters were interviewed and when their statement were translated, they reportedly said that they were from Kirkuk and called on the other soldiers to stop fighting the ISIS militants and give up their fight.

One of the captives said: "We say to the peshmerga: Leave your jobs, or your fate will be like these, either the cage, or under the ground."

However, it was not shown in the video if the 21 men were killed or remained locked up in the cages after the parade.

A senior official from The International Center for the Study of Radicalization and Political Violence, Shiraz Maher, said in a statement that the video has ended before the fate of the soldiers were shown but he presumes that they were killed.

Maher posted a photo on Twitter and noted that the video was not as gory as the previous ones uploaded by the group but pointed out that it was uploaded to show that the soldiers are paraded to their death.

The Kurdish peshmerga force is part of the semi-autonomous region of the Kurds in Iraq especially in the northern part of the country.

These fighters first opposed the regime of Saddam Hussein before pledging allegiance to the U.S.-led effort in order to stop the militants from doing terror-related actions and seizing more regions.
