Paul Charges Phones Through Its "Man Parts"
Staff Reporter | | Jul 11, 2014 01:50 AM EDT |
We'd like you to meet Paul.
He's a legless, headless, and armless sculpture that comes with an integrated mobile phone charger in an "interesting" place.
Interestingly, the charger is located where a man's front part should be.
The mobile phone has to be connected to this charger while thecharger's plug comes out of the rear of the torso. This arrangement on the sculpture is both humorous and absurd at the same time.

The designers of Paul, however, believe their work is a statement piece that shows how technology is greatly influencing our sexuality.
The creator of Paul, Justin Crowe said he realizes that people these days are busy making their own digital identities, especially on social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
This inspired him greatly and the result is Paul.
Paul is available on Kickstarter where people can get him for a $400 pledge, if the $8,000 funding goal is met, that is.
Paul also comes with a catchy caption, "The Sexiest Smartphone Charger on the Planet." He can be customized to work with any kind of micro-USB charger or an iPhone.
There are two kinds of Paul prototypes in existence as of now. Both of them were made by hand and took 80 hours to complete.
The material used to make Paul is an expandable foam that was injected into moulds. The end product was covered with a sanded plaster surface.
It is quite easy to imagine the mixed response Crowe must he receiving. While many people laugh at his masterpiece, some seem quite impressed and amused, and are thinking of the perfect place in their homes to install Paul.
"My favorite type of feedback is when people laugh at him. Paul embodies some important ideas disguised as a joke," Crowe said.
