T-Mobile Teases Samsung Galaxy S6

T-Mobile has teased the new metal Galaxy S6 coming to MWC 2015.

Samsung is preparing to launch its next flagship smartphone and has brought in T-Mobile USA to do some of the hype with a new 'Six Appeal' promo.

The photo seems to show a metal frame on the Galaxy S6, a first for the Galaxy S series, which has offered a removable plastic back since the first edition.

It's part of a redesign by Samsung to appeal to iPhone and HTC customers that tend to buy the products for the exterior design rather than specifications and removable parts like the battery, SD and SIM card.

The image also suggests Samsung will rock a double-edge design. But this would be counter-productive if the Galaxy S6 Edge is also going to be announced at Mobile World Congress on March 1.

Samsung is adding its own Exynos octa-core processor on the Galaxy S6 instead of partnering with Qualcomm for the Snapdragon 810. Reports claim Samsung had thermal issues with the Snapdragon 810, dropping it from the Galaxy S6.

Other specs include a Super AMOLED QHD (1440 x 2560) display, 3 GB of RAM (potentially 4 GB), 32, 64 or 128 GB of internal storage, 20 MP Sony sensor and 2600 mAh battery.

TouchWiz will be heavily redesigned on the Galaxy S6 and will remove some unappealing parts of the user interface. Samsung is apparently looking for a stock oriented look for the Galaxy S6.

Samsung will also reportedly be adding a new payments service -- utilizing the LoopPay technology it acquired for $200 million last week -- to offer a service capable of working on 90 percent of all card readers in the U.S.

It's not clear how Samsung will push through the boundaries U.S. carriers will set due to the new agreement between Google and the three major carriers following the acquisition of SoftCard for $100 million.
