Multi Grammy Winner Ne-Yo recently released his sixth studio album, titled Non-Fiction, a collection inspired by the fans that supported him through the years.

The singer reached out to fans via social media and asked them about their perspective related to several aspects of life such as relationships, dreams, hopes and fears.

Ne-Yo allowed them to be a part of the creative process and made their stories into a beautiful rendition.
"Every song on this album is or was inspired by a true story. All of these stories happen to be 100% true, some of which are mine. It's everything from the breakup of me and the mother of my two kids to just dealing with what it is to be Ne-Yo nowadays," says the 32 year old singer.
"About half of the album is inspired by fans, I didn't want to be selfish with it," Ne-Yo further added.
The singer expressed how overwhelmed he was with the fans' participation since there was also a disadvantage of people sharing such preposterous stories.
However, the singer saw this in a good light and the majority of the fans who reached out him really opened up to him.
When Ne-Yo was asked about what particular story from the public struck him the most, he was quick to respond that it was the story that allowed him to write in a manner that is not from his usual perspective.
The singer verbalized that most of his songs were always about understanding and celebrating women.
However, there was one fan who wrote via Twitter, sharing about an encounter with a cunning and opportunistic woman.
"He wrote and I quote: 'She just took absolute joy in destroying my relationship!' Basically talking about this woman that he met seduced him into doing what it is that she wanted and using the fact that he did what she wanted to destroy his current relationship," says the 32 year old singer.
This story inspired Ne-Yo to write the song 'Run', which also featured the rapper schoolboy Q.
Ne-Yo's songs are best remembered for its catchy tune and heartwarming lyrics.
One of his best songs is the 2008 hit, 'Hate That I Love You', which featured R&B singer Rihanna.
Ne-Yo was reportedly seen in the studio with the Barbados beauty, thus leading to the speculation that they might be recording another hit song.
"Yeah, not too long ago we did a couple of sessions together. I feel like some quality stuff came from it. Of course, I never know what exactly what's going to be kept until later on, but yeah, we got in and she's busy, very busy right now," replies Ne-Yo.
