After months of confusion and speculation as to whether or not South Korean actor Kim Hyun Joong is indeed expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend, both parties have finally decided to clarify the issue. 

Kim, released a statement through KEYEASY, his agency, stating that they are not denying Choi's pregnancy but just simply want to confirm the issue, claiming that Choi has not reached out to them. His lawyers said that they first got wind of her pregnancy back in January and even saw ultrasound photos. Kim, along with his father and an acquaintance met with Choi on January 5 and January 7, but have not seen each other after that.

On February 24 however, Kim's non-celebrity ex-girlfriend Choi issued a formal announcement through her legal team, denying the claims that she has been unresponsive. Her legal representatives said that they have enough evidence to prove that she is pregnant and are even considering releasing the details to the public. They also added that she and Kim have talked in person and have since been in contact with each other, though they are not legally allowed to disclose their conversation.

Kim is reportedly asking Choi if he and his parents can visit Choi and check up on her and their baby, but have yet to receive an answer.

In August of last year, Kim, who has been dating Choi for two years, allegedly assaulted her. After Kim issued a sincere and public apology to Choi, as well as his fans, the pair reconciled and she decided to drop the charges she filed against him. However, one count of physical violence reached Seoul courts and Kim was asked to pay 5 million won or around $4500 USD. 

Despite all that happened between the couple, Kim is reportedly willing to take full responsibility for his and Choi's child.
