The University of Miami in Florida has dismissed two linebackers from its Hurricanes football team after the players were charged with sexual battery of a 17-year-old female on Tuesday.
Linebackers Alex Figueroa and Jawand Blue have been taken to custody on charges of sexual battery over a physically-incapable victim.

Bail was set at US$10,000 each and the two have been banned from entering the University campus.
Police reports said that the victim, whose name is yet to be identified, first went to the university police, which in turn went to the Coral Gables police department for further investigation.
Police said that the victim was brought back to a dorm room early Saturday after being given a substance that left her "physically incapacitated."
Both linebackers admitted to performing sexual acts on the victim and are now in jail.
Figueroa was also charged with possessing a stolen or forged driver's license.
Blake James, athletic director of Miami, issued a statement stating that he had permanently dismissed the students from the Miami Hurricanes.
The two have also been suspended from any campus activities while the school is conducting its own internal investigation and continuously coordinates with local law enforcement.
James also said that the University will not tolerate any such conducts that threatens the safety of its students and that allegations of sexual assault is "extremely serious."
Both Figueroa and Blue have been removed from the Hurricanes' official roster this season.
University President Donna Shalala has spoken to the victim, who is also a student of the University, and also issued a statement.
"We have zero tolerance for sexual assault and gender-based violence," said Shalala. "There is no confusion about our responsibility as a university: we will fully and compassionately support the victim of sexual assault. I have spoken to her myself and reassured her of our full support."
