When Kelly Clarkson said "I do" to Brandon Blackstock, she immediately became a mother of three kids within just one year, and while some might feel like it's overwhelming, the American Idol season 1 winner revealed that she is the happiest that she's ever been.

In the latest issue of People magazine, the 32-year old singer said, "My whole life took a big 180," and added that she never thought that she was going to be a mother, so being a mother of three right now changed her world but in "the most awesome way."

Kelly and Brandon welcomed their first child together, River Rose back in June, and Kelly took on the stepmother role for Brandon's two children 13-year old Savannah and 8 year-old Seth.

Kelly has always prioritized her career prior to marriage, but now, she has learned to prioritize her love life and her children first. She told People, "I'm a mother and a wife and have this whole other thing going on."

She further explained that she loves what she does but she feels like she has relied on her career for her self-worth.

Discussing her first child with her husband, she remarked that River Rose is "the happiest baby," and she has attained a certain level of peace that she did not expect would come along with it.

It's no secret that Kelly's parents divorced when she was younger and this caused her to create a different mindset on her own family and marriage. Kelly shared that her best friend always tells her that she simply wants to create the family she never had and admitted that she might be doing just that.

She then went on to explain her past, saying that people simply fall out of love and go their separate ways.

She also revealed her biggest goal in life and that is to become a successful wife and mother.

The singer married Brandon last October 2013 in a very intimate ceremony in Tennessee.

Kelly's upcoming album Piece by Piece is scheduled to be released on March 3.
