Curved TVs hit markets worldwide last year and seem to be catching consumer attention--and dollars.
Experts now have some really interesting info that compares curved TVs to flat screen TVs. Here's what you should know about curved TVs.
1) Curved TVs Have Subtle Differences from Flatscreens

You can only really tell a curved TV from a flatscreen TV when you will look at it from above or from the side. When watching a curved TV from the front, it looks exactly the same as a flat TV.
2) The Curve Helps Reduce Reflection
If there's one good benefit of a curved TV, it's that it minimizes screen reflections. This is because a flatscreen TV is more likely to catch reflections, especially from bright objects such as lights or an open window. The special design of a curved TV does away with most of these reflections.
3) A Curved TV Often Creates Minor Geometric Distortions
Whether it's because manufacturers have not perfected the curved TV or if they're unaware of this problem, a curved TV creates irritating distortions. Due to the bow-like shape of the TV, the edges of the TV might look larger than the middle portion.
Right now, curved TVs seem quite overrated. It could be that a flat screen is a better investment today. But tomorrow, who knows?
