The United States Government expressed concern over the growing number of North Korea's nuclear weapons.
In a report by the U.S.-Korea Institute at the Advanced International Studies of John Hopkins University, it was cited that North Korea has the capability to produce more than 100 nuclear weapons in five-year time.

"We are deeply concerned about the fact that the North Koreans are continuing to advance their nuclear capabilities," said Sung Kim, U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy.
"We know that they are continuing to work on their nuclear program," he added.
Kim also stressed that the U.S. Government doubts the willingness of North Korea to voluntarily denuclearize. He added that the US will continue to exert multilateral and unilateral pressure against North Korea.
"North Korea's advances in nuclear technology forces the international diplomats to find a credible path to negotiation so that we can stop North Korea's development of their nuclear capabilities," said Kim.
According to a report of the U.S.-Korea Institute, North Korea has currently around 10 to 16 nuclear weapons.
It also predicted three scenarios of the future of North Korea's nuclear weapons.
First prediction was that the nuclear stockpile of North Korea will increase by year 2020 to 20 weapons, assuming that there will just be small improvements in the nuclear technology.
The second prediction cited that the nuclear weapons will increase to 50 and there will be advancements in miniaturization.
This will equip North Korea with warheads capable for the latest models of intermediate as well as short-range ballistic missiles.
The third prediction is deemed by experts as the "worst-case scenario." There will be an increase to 100 weapons and there will be highly-advance nuclear technology that North Korea can utilize in battles.
