SM Entertainment's popular girl group Girls' Generation just recently announced that they are gearing up for their first Korean comeback following the departure of Jessica Jung last fall.
Sports DongA reported that sources close to the now eight-member group revealed that the group has plans to release a new album this coming May. If this is true, the new album will mark Girls' Generation first album since "I Got A Boy," which was released back in January 2013. The recent two-year hiatus of the group beat the record of I Got A Boy," which was released more than a year after their third album called "The Boys."

On top of that, the group announced that they will be releasing a Japanese single, entitled "Catch Me If You Can" in April. While some fans were disappointed that their comeback single is Japanese, some are just glad that they will not be skipping press conferences, as well as promotions in Korea.
News of their comeback has been met with various responses, as some fans are upset about Jessica's departure. However, loyal fans of the girl group are elated and beyond excited to hear the news. Their comeback album will not only be their first album in over two years but will also be their first as an eight-girl group.
While fans wait for their upcoming album, in the meantime, they can enjoy listening to "Mr. Mr." and "Oh!" which are tracks off of their mini albums.
Current members of Girls' Generation seem to have been promoting their comeback in their own little ways-releasing a track for the drama, "Blood" and subtly giving hints on Instagram.
In light of their rumored album release, former Girls' Generation member Jessica, has also made headlines about her Japanese solo debut, although Jessica or a representative from her label has yet to confirm the news.
