Awesome news for Marvel fans, as The Marvel franchise just recently confirmed the comeback of Peter Parker's love interest, Gwen Stacy. Does the announcement mean that Emma Stone will be seen in the next "Spider-Man" films?
As fans of the comic know, Gwen Stacy, recently played by 26-year old actress Emma Stone in the movies, was killed 40 years ago during a battle with Spiderman's archenemy, the Green Goblin. Fortunately, thanks to an alternate universe, Gwen will not only come back in the new comic, but she will also have her own powers and become a hero called "Spider-Gwen."

Spider-Gwen, in which events happen on Earth-65 is the most recent Marvel series. In it, events happen in an alternate existence from the original Spider-Man and it is Gwen who was bit by the radioactive spider, giving her Spider-like powers instead of Peter.
And fans of the comic books are left wondering if Spider-Gwen will actually be turned into a movie and if Emma will reprise her role. While there has been no official announcement regarding movie plans, it seems like there is a high possibility given the success of the latest comic.
Discussing the comic's debut, comic book artist and writer Jason Latour told USA Today that the response was overwhelming. He revealed that people liked the costumes and was really supportive of the idea.
The new comic series features Gwen and other Spider-friends returning from traversing the universe throughout Spider-Verse. Once back, she finds herself juggling spending time with her band mates, avoiding bad write-ups from Daily Budgle's J. Jonah Jameson, who is persistent on blaming her for Peter's death and tussling it out with the supervillain, Vulture, Jason revealed.
Jason acknowledged that creating the alternate universe was not without risk, but shared that he is happy to have been given the chance to create a female superhero that changes the subtext and meaning of every little thing that's going on.
He concluded, "As a creator, that's really enjoyable and it opens up the story to go in a lot of directions it wouldn't have gone before."
