Eva Huang was getting her hair and makeup done and preparing to attend the prestigious Academy Awards show when she suddenly fainted and had to be transported to the hospital. The incident, which caused her to miss the opportunity to attend the Oscars, had citizens questioning the authenticity of the 32-year old actress' claims.

Eva gained headlines these past few weeks for being the only Asian female celebrity to be invited to the 87th Annual Oscars Award show. In fact, it was reported that she was going to attend and grace the red carpet with her co-star in the upcoming film "Bombing of Chongqing," Hollywood actor, Tom Hanks.
When netizens doubted Eva's claims, they visited The Academy Awards' official website to check. However, Eva, as well as Tom's names were nowhere to be found in the list of attendees.
One netizen commented that, "[Eva must be] bragging and sensationalizing news."
Countering the accusations thrown at Eva, her manager showed a photo of the invitation, complete with the rules and other conditions and explained that Eva's name was naturally not in the list of attendees because the names listed are only those who have been asked to present the awards. As for attending the event with Oscar-winning actor Tom, her manager said that the news did not come from them.
Despite the proof presented, netizens continued to scrutinize the invitation and pointed out that it was an invite for The Independent Spirit Awards held last January 30, 2014, which of course further raised suspicions about her fainting incident.
