It's also believed the Pro 4 series will use a new kind of processor and will have the new Windows 10 as its OS. Pundits are betting the release date will be somewhere between July and October.

With regards to sizes, the usual 12 inch model will surely be included. The larger 14 inch model is also likely to be release while a mini sized Surface Pro 4 is another matter, though.

Some rumors claim Microsoft won't push through with the Mini Surface Pro 4 because it doesn't have any notable specs that make it stand out among the other small tablets already in the market.

The explanation is plausible since Microsoft reportedly abandon the idea of developing a mini version of the Surface Pro 3.

Reports are suggesting that both the 12 inch and 14 inch models will have a display resolution of 2160 x 1440.  RAM will be doubled at 16 GB as opposed to its predecessor, the Pro 3, which only has 8 GB.  Internal storage space can reached up to 1 TB.

The Pro 4 will no longer use Intel's Haswell dual-core but will instead use the Core M Broadwell chips, which are also produced by the same company.  The Haswell chip is more powerful but Broadwell is more energy efficient.

In case the mini size Pro 4 is true, it will probably use the Intel Atom 64-bit chip.

Many believe the Pro 4 will have the Windows 10 OS. But there's also possibility it may have Windows 8.1 instead because of uncertainties as to the Windows 10 launch date.  Microsoft can later encourage users to upgrade to the new Windows version.
