Oscar Winner Patricia Arquette Leads Cast Of CSI: Cyber

Oscar winner Patricia Arquette is set to make a TV comeback as she topbills CSI: Cyber. The actress, who starred in Medium, has recently triumphed with her Oscan win as Best Supporting Actress for her role as the distant mother in the critically-acclaimed Boyhood. She also grabbed a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and BAFTA for her role.

CBS is really interested to get the freshly minted winner to star in the series as Cyber hits TV on March 4.

Arquette's character, Avery Ryan, has already appeared in two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Arquette's role has been inspired by the real-life cyberpsychologist Mary Aiken, who also serves as one of the new series' producers.

Ryan is head of an FBI unit in charge of solving online-based crimes. James Van Der Beek, Charley Koontz, Shad Moss and Hayley Kiyoko join Aqruette in her team while with Peter MacNicol reprises his role as the squad's supervisor.

Arquette explained that she decided to join CSI partially because it's "the largest global franchise in the world."

She also explained that joining the series is "connecting to audiences everywhere" and that she felt "like we're on the dawn of a new time... like the Industrial Revolution...This is an explosion of the way that we're going to be living our lives."

Arquette also hails women in the law enforcement. She finds her character "important," and "a powerful position."

Arquette made her film debut in Chuck Russell's A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and appeared in various films, including True Romance, Ed Wood, Bringing Out the Dead, and Stigmata. She eventually gained fame for her real life role as psychic Allison DuBois in the supernatural drama series Medium, which ran for seven seasons, from 2005 until 2011, winning her the Emmy Award in 2005, and giving her multiple Golden Globe nominations.
