In a meeting on Friday by the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the group approved to hold the third yearly session of the 12th CPCC National Committee on Tuesday, March 3.
The CPPCC is the top political advisory body of China and a mechanism of multi-party cooperation and political consultation. Its members count key figures from Chinese society who serve as the think tank of the government, legislative and judicial bodies.

The meeting, presided by CPCC National Committee Chairman Yu Zhengsheng, discussed the draft schedule and agenda for the forthcoming meeting and the draft report of the 2014 session.
The National People's Congress, in turn, will open on March 5. It is China's top legislative body.
Xinhua reports that it expects 3,000 media men to cover the two events, including over 1,000 reporters from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries.
Zhong Xuequan, deputy head of the Media Center, said press conferences will be held daily at the Media Center Hotel in downtown Beijing. Schedules of the media briefing will be available on the NPC press center website and its Wechat account.
After the two summits, Chinese would know if the country's economic policies would be amended to take into account the change in pace of China's economic growth from high- to medium-speed and the effect of the lower interest rates on the nation's gross domestic product growth rate.
Yibada reports that the two summits will also include the relaxation of the one-child policy as China's population ages, the "One Belt, One Road" projects, the anti-corruption initiative of President Xi Jinping, upholding the rule of law via legal reforms, the national transport system during major holidays, reforms to benefit migrant workers and pro-environment infrastructure and policy changes.
