Unified welterweight world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced Thursday that he is giving Marcos Maidana a rematch fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Mayweather-Maidana II fight, dubbed "Mayhem", will take place on September 13 and will headline a Showtime Pay Per View (PPV) card.

Mayweather, undefeated in 46 outings with 26 wins via knockouts, seeks affirmation of his majority decision win against the 30-year-old Maidana last May.
The former World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Maidana gave Mayweather one of the most difficult fights of his career back then.
Although score cards clearly show 117-111, 116-111 and 114-114 in favor of a Mayweather win, Maidana disputed the decision.
Maidana has a record of 35 wins with 31 of those wins via knockouts and 4 losses.
He said after the fight, billed as "The Moment", that Mayweather "wasn't that tough."
Mayweather may have chosen to have a rematch fight with Maidana for he was the only boxer who gave him a tough time on the ring and he has run out of established boxers to fight, especially a Manny Pacquiao fight, since they have different promotional and network alliances.
Mayweather Promotions chief executive Leonard Ellerbe said that the fight against Maidana was a great fight and that fans have been asking for a rematch fight.
"The fans asked for it, so we are giving it to them," said Ellerbe.
Golden Boy Promotions has been promoting Mayweather's fights since 2007 and will still handle the Mayweather-Maidana fight.
They will kick-off their promotional tour Monday afternoon with a news conference in New York followed by another at Washingtion, D.C. in the evening.
They will then fly-off to Chicago Tuesday and hold a press conference in the afternoon and in the evening in San Antonio, Texas.
The final stop of their five-city tour will be in Los Angeles on July 17.
