Radcliffe had tried to quit smoking by using hypnotherapy and e-cigarettes but failed to kick the habit.
The Daily Star source said Radcliffe's latest treatment for smoking "will involve counselling, both individual and group, counselling, stress management and herbal treatments to help withdrawal symptom." He added, "There's also a full activity programme which includes swimming, running and yoga."
Besides smoking, Radcliffe also had drinking issues in the past but managed to get over them. When he was 22, Radcliffe admitted to having "nightly" drinking sessions. He said his problem with alcohol got worse that he turned up at work drunk.
Although he never drank during shootings, he revealed his drinking habits left him "dead behind the eyes." Radcliffe disclosed the effects drinking had on him, including blacking out and becoming "a recluse at 20" because he was so concerned about how we would behave in public when under the influence of alcohol.
The Harry Potter star acknowledged that unless he controlled his alcohol consumption he was setting himself up for destruction.
After kicking his drinking habits, Radcliffe said he seriously did not want to turn into an alcoholic that he now consciously resists getting in contact with alcohol.
The creator of Harry Potter, J K Rowling, announced this week that she was writing a follow-up story about Harry as an adult. Radcliffe, shooting a new film in New York, indicated he was not keen to re-assume the role of Harry in any possible adaptations of Rowling's latest offering.
