"Glee" turns to into gloom again after star Becca Tobin lost her boyfriend, Matt Bendik, to sudden death on Thursday.

The tragedy struck Tobin just days before the first death anniversary of her fellow "Glee" star, Cory Monteith, on Sunday.

Tobin and Bendik were on a business trip to Philadelphia and were seen together spending Wednesday night out with friends. The next day, Bendik was found dead in his hotel room, but it remains unclear where Tobin was at the time the body of her boyfriend was found.

Philadelphia police are not releasing an official report on the incident yet, but said there was no evidence of foul play or suicide.

Investigators also said they did not find any drugs, paraphernalia, or deadly weapons among Bendik's belongings.

Bendik, 35, owns several nightclubs in the Los Angeles area and is known among the couple's inner circle as a workaholic, though not a party-goer, prompting friends and family to surmise that he might have died of heart attack due to stress.

Tobin was described by her friends as "inconsolable" over her boyfriend's death.  The two are said to be so in love and Tobin had been overheard talking about plans of marrying Bendik.

An outpouring of condolences over Bendik's death flooded Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag  #StayStrongBecca, which went trending since Thursday.

Becca Tobin plays Kitty Wilde in the FOX show "Glee", which is rumored to have undergone a nearly 50 percent cut in final season orders, from 22 episodes to just 13. Speculation is rife that the downsized run was due to low ratings.

On July 13 last year, "Glee" was rocked by the sudden death of its star, Canadian actor Cory Monteith, due to drug overdose. Monteith was the boyfriend of another "Glee" star, Lea Michele.

News of the death of Becca Tobin's boyfriend sent ripples of gloom over the cast once again, even as they struggled to move on from Monteith's death and Lea Michele's loss.
