A counter experiment against Facebook’s manipulation of posts on newsfeeds was revealed online this week.
Just B.V., a creative communications agency from The Netherlands, decided to create a counter experiment Instead of freaking out over Facebook's violation of its users' rights.

The goal of the non-profit group's counter-experiment is to challenge Facebook users to give up the social networking site for a total of 99 days.
The project is named “99 Days of Freedom” and aims to study how life without Facebook affects the happiness of the site's users.
Once a user decides to join the experiment, he's required to follow three steps to proceed. First, he must download an avatar from the website to replace his Facebook profile picture.
Next, he has to create a “personal countdown”that allows him to become an official member of the experiment. Last, he should absolutely have no Facebook for the next three months.
99 Days of Freedom said those who join will be able to regain an average of 1,683 minutes, or more than 28 hours of their lives. Also, a message board will be hosted for anyone who wants to share his toughts about his three-month Facebook break.
According to Merijn Straathof, Just B.V. director, "Facebook is an incredible platform, we're all fiercely loyal users and we believe that there's a lot to love about the service."
Straathof said they also feel there are noticeable emotional benefits to Facebook moderation.
What makes this study interesting is the result. What will those who joined feel when they reach day 99?
Will they return to Facebook or realize there's no reason for them to return?
