Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez made an official apology through a video via Facebook last Saturday after being under fire due to a comment answered to a TMZ reporter about minority actors, according to Chron studio.

"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," says Rodriguez to a TMZ reporter, in response to a question whether she would play the role of Green Lantern, a popular character of DC Comics.

"Because of this whole 'minorities in Hollywood' thing, it's so stupid. It's like, you know, stop stealing all the white people's superheroes," she further added.

The actress' remarks went viral and incited several reactions from people worldwide.

"I stuck my foot into my mouth once again," Rodriguez quips as she posted the video on her Facebook account, according to ABC News.

The Resident Evil star posted the video to clarify the comments she made about actors playing superheroes and minorities.

 "I said people should stop trying to steal white people superheroes. I guess it got taken out of context, because a lot of people got offended," says the 36 year old actress, who wholeheartedly admits that she tends to speak without filtering her words first.

"There are many cultures in Hollywood that are not white and that can come up with their own mythology. I'm just saying that instead of trying to turn a girl character into a guy or instead trying to turn a white character into a black character or latin character, I think people should stop being lazy and people should make an effort in Hollywood to develop their own character," explains Rodriguez.

"It's not about taking Catwoman or Superman or Green Lantern, whatever these characters are and trying to make them fit to whatever cultural background you are. It's time to stop taking what's already there and fit a culture into it. It's time for us to write our own mythology and story," she further added.

The actress emphasizes the fact that she didn't mean to offend anyone with her previous comments and it was just her way of saying that writers should also be original and creative regardless of cultural influence.
