Last month, when the Park of Land Lake began to open to the public, Micky has gradually fallen in love with the exquisite environment there and does exercises there every morning. Nevertheless, there spreads much rubbish inside the park which makes him uncomfortable, he often couldn't help picking up those garbage. And since then, he has begun to collect the rubbish after finishing practicing Tai Ji with the tools he borrowed from his friends. Whenever he finds someone is preparing to throw something, he would follow up and speak in Chinese he is not truly good at, "Please give it to me, I need it."
According to Mickey, he is responsible for an area covering the whole park and even including 200 square meters outside the park. He is also in charge of managing the parking stuff of bicycles and banning pets in the park. The administrative department of the park considered to pay him salary, however, he rejected by saying that "I adores Lei Feng, he was a noble man, how pitiful that he died so young."
Mickey calls himself as "Chinese son-in-law", he would like to imitate the accent of Wuhan people for inviting others to "have a tea", he could even tell the difference between the Wuchang and Hankou accents.
Mickey said that his neighbors in the USA also have a habit of collecting rubbish on roads, they do so are not for lacking money.
Mr.Zhao, the head of the administrative department of this park introduced to us that citizens living near this park has organized a team for guarding the park, and among them, Mickey is the only foreign volunteer. He persists in doing this volunteering job five days a week, not only caring and protecting the environment, but also teaching other staff English enthusiastically.
