Google aims to simplify Google Contacts by combining Gmail and Google+ connections in one place.
It said the new Google Contacts will make it easier for users to find connections and keep contact information up to date. Users usually access Google Contacts on desktop browsers.

Contact information will be synced across Google+ and Gmail to smoothen the experience. Google Contacts will automatically retrieve addresses and phone numbers plus other information from a user's contacts' Google+ profiles. A user will also get contextual information such emails you've exchanged with this person or recent meetings.
In its blog, Google wrote the new Google Contacts comes with a fresh look and feel, and conveniently pools together all your contacts, circles, and the people you talk to most in Gmail.
The new Contacts "ensures the info you see is still accurate and ready to use by blending your contact's Google profile information with the stuff you already have."
It also comes with a redesigned tool for fixing duplicate contact information. Gmail's contacts already has a tool for doing this, but the new one promises to be much more intuitive and user friendly.
Google says it'll roll-out the contacts to Gmail users over the next few weeks.
