Shania, who has won five Grammy awards, happily revealed on Good Morning America that she's going back on tour after 11 long years. "It's the after-party tour," she said on how she feels about it. "It's the after-party to all of these years."
The tour called "Rock This Country" will start on June 5 in Seattle and will take her to 48 cities all over the United States and Canada, Shania's home country. Sadly, she confirmed that it will be her last tour and explained that she feels ready to hang up her hat and simply wants "to go out with a bang."
Shania, famous for her track "You're Still the One," was recently in the news because of her 2-year residency at Caesar's Palace in Vegas. Her live DVD, as well as CD of her Las Vegas performance was just recently released on Tuesday.
Regarding the residency, the award-winning singer shared that it was a "huge mountain to climb," but was able to pull it through and overcome vocal challenges with the help of Gladys Knight and Lionel Richie. Shania said, that the singers were extremely encouraging and basically told her to "get back on the microphone."
The singer revealed that her tour will be different from her Las Vegas show, although fans, she assured, will always be an important part of it. She explained that to find her courage, she looks for it in others, thus the reason why she loves being with her fans and talking to them during the show.
As for fans who are disappointed that this is her last farewell tour, don't fret as after the tour, Shania shared that she will be working on her new album. "I want it to come out when I'm 50, so it will happen," she said, who will be celebrating her 50th birthday in August.
Tickets for Shania's "Rock This Country" tour will be available to fans on March 10 and to the public on March 13.
