The United States Justice Department called on police officials of Ferguson, Missouri to revamp criminal justice system after finding out that they have a pattern of being racially biased.
The Justice Department said the police officials violated a lot of constitutional rights and that their system should be modified via better training, implementing new policies and with the guidance of officials not from the area.

According to reports, the Justice Department will file a civil rights lawsuit against the police officials if there will be no changes in Ferguson's criminal justice system.
The department asks the Ferguson police to focus on a criminal justice system built upon community policing and community outreach.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday released a statement saying the list of the changes that Ferguson officials should make is long and that it is a very serious matter. He described the Justice Department's report as searing and noted that the deep distrust and violence in the area is rooted between the officials and the citizens due to the past acts done by the police.
Ferguson police officers were found out to be biased against the black citizens as they are more prone to being singled out for petty crimes, unreasonable stopping in traffic, unreasonable arrests and many more.
It was also found out that these officials sent racist jokes using their government email addresses. There were many complaints filed against these officials about unnecessary use of force and abuse but they were rarely investigated.
The investigation came months after white officer Darren Wilson shot dead an unarmed black teenager named Michael Brown.
The Justice Department also found out that targeting black citizens was being used as a form of a money-making strategy by law enforcement officers. The latter have been creating revenue for the city by letting black citizens pay fines for unreasonable arrests and charges.
