Scuba diving, free diving and snorkeling are popular activities with many reefs adjacent to waterfront hotels. The Blue Hole and Canyon are internationally famous dive spots. However, the Blue Hole's nickname is "the World's Most Dangerous Diving Site" because of many diving accidents happened in that area.
Blue Hole is about 130 meters deep with an arch opening onto the reef face at 52 meters. This site is considered to be the most dangerous scuba diving site on earth, killing inexperienced divers, even experienced divers. A high number of instructors and diving masters have met their fate in the Blue Hole, as well, there are still many divers who has successfully passed the arch many times. If you are interested in descending to the arch, you must go through technical dive training and visit the Blue Hole on the correct gases.
Tips:
1. The price for diving in Dahab range from 220 to 250 Euros.
2. Everyone needs to take a diving training to obtain a diving certificate. It needs three to four days to finish the training.
3. When you are learning about the open water diving, you'd better not take your waterproof camera. It will distract your attention on diving, which is very dangerous for beginners.
4. Normally, there are only shore dives in Dahab. If you want to do boat dive, you should ask dive center for booking further boat service.
