A member of the popular K-Pop boy band Zest has been recently accused of rape, immediately prompting police to conduct a thorough investigation of the situation.
YTN News first reported the issue on Thursday. Without revealing any names, the report simply said that a teen idol from Zest allegedly raped a young woman in her 20s.

According to the news reports making their rounds online, the teen idol met the woman on November of last year through a mutual friend. After two days of meeting, the teen idol visited the young woman's house, where she claimed the rape happened.
Less than a week later, the woman said that the teen idol came back to her house under the pretense that he was apologizing, however, the woman revealed that the teen idol simply came back and made the attempt to rape her once again.
Zest's agency Zenith Media Content, denied the allegations, saying that the young woman, who filed a formal complaint with the Seoul Gangnam police on February 27, is making up stories. In an official statement, the claims were slammed as "totally false," and accused the young woman of spreading malicious rumors. The agency revealed that the accused member's parents are already suing her for libel.
The agency continued to question the validity of her claims explaining that if it were true, "she could have filed a suit against him last year." Before asking, "Why does she bring it up now all of a sudden?"
However, the agency assured that they will look into the situation and report the blackmails that they've received to the police. They revealed that they reached out to the young woman, but attempts to contact her simply failed.
Zest, whose members include Shin, Shun, Duksin, Yeho and Choigoo made their debut in July 2014 with their single, "Last Night Story."
