Argentine football hero Lionel Messi will have to wait another four years to avenge Argentina's defeat to Germany in the World Cup Brazil finals, that is if his team will make it again to the finals of World Cup 2018 in Russia.

Argentina's defeat to Germany in the World Cup was not a first. In 2010, Messi's team lost to the Germans in a humiliating 0-4 loss.

Football experts said Messi was burdened by the pressure to reclaim the 2010 lost four years later against an opponent that was also humiliated by Argentina in 1986, when football legend Diego Maradona lifted the World Cup at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico.

Messi and the entire Argentine football team failed to reclaim their glory against the Germans, vowing to the champs 0-1 in the jam-packed Estadio Maracana in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro.

Germany pulled-off a last-minute goal to end the team's 24-year wait for another World Cup title.

It was Mario Goetze who broke the heart of the Argentine fans, and that of Messi, when he scored the winning goal in extra time, giving Germany its fourth World Cup title.

Sources said Messi and his team should prepare this early to meet the Germans again in Russia for the World Cup 2018.

This early, Russia is already preparing to host the 2018 World Cup, which could see Messi and Goetze battling again for the championship goal.

Russia announced plans to host the World Cup 2018 games in 12 stadiums located in 11 Russian cities, including Moscow.

Of the 12 stadiums that will be used for the World Cup, Russia is building some stadiums from scratch while the others are aging arenas that will be upgraded for the 2018 football championships.
