Bandai Namco has officially announced the latest installment of its hit fighting game, Tekken 7, in Las Vegas.

It said this version is powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4 and made the announcement at the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) fighting game tournament at the Westgate Las Vegas Hotel and Resort.

Although AOL.com and IGN got hold of an announcement video earlier than the offical announcement from Bandai Namco, the video shown is evidently the first trailer of the game.

The teaser trailer shows a woman talking to Kazuya about destroying Heihachi. The teaser does not show any game play but more details will be unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 25.

Series Executive Producer Katsuhiro Harada said that with the help of Unreal Engine 4, the game can be easily ported to other platforms and will be coming to next-gen consoles.

Harada also said that with the use of Unreal Engine 4, the visual quality of the game will be at par with other next-gen platforms.

Along with several other titles that Harada has been working simultaneously with Tekken, he also confirms there will be two more games to be released this 2014.

Taka Kawasaki, studio head at Epic Games Japan, is ecstatic about working on the Tekken franchise with Harada and the Bandai Namco team. He also believes that with the powerful Unreal Engine 4, the Tekken franchise will continue producing incredible fighting games.

The release of Tekken 7 using Unreal Engine 4 is quite surprising since most games using the Unreal Engine are shooters such as Duke Nukem, Unreal Tournament and BioShock.

As of now, there is no release date or platform announcement from Bandai Namco for Tekken 7.
