China promises to play a bigger role in international affairs, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a statement at a press conference at the annual session of the National People's Congress.
Wang also stressed China's commitment to peace and justice.

In the same press forum, the top Chinese envoy also addressed a range of issues, including China's relations with the United States and Russia, China's preparations for a military parade that will be held in remembrance of World War II, and the situation in the Korean Peninsula, as well as the turmoil in Myanmar.
Wang said China's diplomacy this year will concentrate on what government calls the "Belt and Road" infrastructure initiatives.
These initiatives were earlier proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, that were meant to upgrade the cooperation between nations in Asia, Europe and Africa.
"The initiatives are not solo for China, but a symphony performed by all countries involved," Wang said.
Wang also vowed to apply "win-win" cooperation as the main guiding principle of Chinese diplomacy in 2015.
He explained that China will lean towards "making partners rather than allies".
This means China will abide by an independent foreign policy of peace and equality among all nations.
Wang stressed that these principles are, after all, reflected in Chinese traditions and in the country's socialist beliefs.
China has formal economic partnerships with over 70 countries and several regional organizations.
While Wang believes there are some revisions that need to be done in the "current international order", he said China has "no intention of overturning it or starting all over again".
He also emphasizes the importance of upholding the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.
Wang states that in the coming days, China will work with other countries to combat cross-boarder corruption.
This campaign is part of China's anti-graft declaration, which it announced during a meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Beijing last year.
