Recently, the Gree Electric (a famous electrical appliance brand) got into trouble in its American market. On June 20, it was said that Gree was accused by its American partner Soleus in the USA, Soleus claimed Gree an indemnity of $150million. The cause of this issue resulted from the quality problem of the dehumidifier Gree currently sold in the North America.

However, Gree denied the quality deficiency of its products. According to Gree, only a small part of Gree dehumidifiers were not made of non-fire-proof materials, but they claimed these products were still safe, many electrical manufactures use the same materials. But Soleus thought there existed threats towards public safety, and they even drafted a report on Gree's quality issue to local government.
The Gree Electric also posted an announcement on its Sina.weibo (China's tweeter) yesterday afternoon, and from this announcement, we learned that there objectively existed disputes between Gree and Soleus, however, Gree negated its quality problem, and claimed it didn't receive any formal paper from American court.
Gree pointed that they had always put product quality onto an altitude as high as corporate strategy, all the products they export meet the admittance mechanism of local market. And Gree has also attached great emphasis to this dehumidifier safety issue.
An analyst pointed out that Gree had always been well known for its superior quality, although there was still not any result concerning this issue, it may affect to a certain degree on Gree's reputation.
