Utah Suspends 2 Officers Over Video Shoot Featuring Women In Bikinis Shooting Firearms

For not seeking permission from authorities to take part in a video shoot that features women in bikinis firing weapons, two Utah peace officers were suspended in December.

Suspended by the Utah Department of Public Safety were Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Rob Wilkinson and State Bureau of Investigation agent Justin Hansen.

The department released its discipline record only last week based on a request by The Salt Lake Tribune.

Wilkinson was suspended for three days without pay while Hansen was suspended for one day.

The two appeared in a calendar called "Hot Shots," which mainly featured British models wearing bikini while firing weapons.

The photo shoot was held in June at the Big Shot Ranch.

The two were clearly identified by their camouflage uniform.

To worsen matters for the two, someone posted the videos of the photo shoot in social media, which was brought to the attention of their superiors.

The department said the two officers brought discredit to their agency and wore their uniform for the promotion of a product, which breached rules of the agency.

A friend of the two officers asked their help in the photo shoot, specifically to supervise the models while they were firing real ammunition. The calendar plans to donate a part of proceeds to charities for wounded soldiers.

Bikini-clad women also got four Utah National Guard soldiers in trouble in November because the scantly-clad females used military vehicles for the video and also shot them firing high-powered weapons and riding in tanks.

In May, a non-commissioned officer also allowed a video to be shot partly at Camp Williams. As a result, the officer was relieved of his duties. Three other soldiers who were also involved got lesser penalties such as reprimand or counseling.
