Months ago, Emma Watson got threatened by hoaxers, telling her that they would be releasing a series of her nude photos and post them on their website for the rest of the world to see. Well, it never happened because the photos are basically non-existent, but for the first time, Emma opened up about the threats and discussed what really happened.

After she gave her remarkable UN speech, the threats started coming in and when the subject was brought up at the Q&A she did yesterday for her HeForShe campaign, she took the time to explain.
After her speech, the 24-year old actress revealed that a website threatened to post naked pictures of her, complete with a countdown. She knew it was simply a ruse because there are no naked photos of her, but explained that although people close to her knew the issue with gender equality, they did not realize how urgent it was, saying that in Great Britain, [gender equality] is a "thing of the past."
She continued to explain that the nude photo threats were because of her decision to fight for women and their rights. The moment she stepped up on the stage and discussed women's rights, she was threatened in less than 12 hours.
She revealed that she was shocked and that one of her brothers got extremely upset, but it made her realize more that gender inequality is an extremely serious issue that is happening now.
But if the hoaxers thought that they will be able to dissuade Emma, they're wrong, "It made me so angry. I was like, "This is why I have to be doing this. So if they're trying to put me off, they did the opposite."
Looks like their plan backfired. Kudos to Emma for her determination to promote and fight for gender equality, as well as for putting these hoaxers in their place.
