At the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Sony took a chance and revealed its upgraded Project Morpheus Virtual Reality Headset to be released in 2016.

Sony said this virtual reality system aims to bring an incredible new game experience for users.

''The new Project Morpheus hardware seems slightly lighter and slimmer than the version I tried last year, and it sports even more colored LEDs around its smooth, white shell for positioning with the PlayStation Camera," said Will Greenwald of PCMag Asia.

He also said the OLED displayed impressive figures that felt real and gave its 3D effect a positive review. Greenwald had hands-on experience with three demos of the Project Morpheus at the Game Developer Conference held last week.

The VR headset was upgraded and now has an OLED display. The screen was upgraded from 5-inches to 5.7-inches, which gives a wide range of view.

Sony also added nine more LED trackers that will follow the player's head movement. The refresh rate was improved and can now provide a smooth visual of 120fps. Sony also trimmed the latency, which is very crucial in this kind of gaming system.

Project Morpheus, created and developed by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita game consoles, was first announced at the GDC 2014.

It was demonstrated by Topolsky at "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" with guest star Channing Tatum. It was also displayed at Sony's PlayStation Experience Expo in Las Vegas in 2014.
