Discussing her previous marriage with English filmmaker Guy Ritchie, Madonna revealed that she felt as if she were a prisoner with him.
The Queen of Pop tied the knot with Ritchie back in 2000 and was married for eight years, but she recently admitted that she felt trapped by the "Sherlock Holmes" director, which she believed to have held her back artistically.

Regarding their time together, the 56-year old singer revealed to The Sun that she sometimes found herself in conflict with herself and explained that there were times when she sought to express herself but held back because she felt that her ex-husband would be uncomfortable.
Feeling restricted, she admitted that "there were times when I felt incarcerated," because she wasn't able to be herself.
Madonna, whose new album "Rebel Heart" gets released this week, officially divorced from Ritchie in 2008. From that relationship, she said that compromise is a vital part of a relationship, therefore, she simply needs to find the right person who will fully accept her for who she is and what she does.
The singer, who is famous for pushing the envelope, also took some time to put the people who criticize her for dating younger guys in their place. After she split from Ritchie, Madonna went on to date Timor Steffans and Brahim Zalibat, who were both 20-somethings. She explained how people can be unfair and said, "It's okay if Mick Jagger dates a 25-year-old girl but if I date a 25-year-old man I'm, you know... it's ridiculous."
This is not the first time that Madonna pointed out ageist issues, in an interview with Out magazine, she addressed these issues and highlighted the fact that people still categorize people. "If you're a certain age, you're not allowed to express your sexuality, be single, or date younger men," the singer said.
She then went on to reveal her previous desire to be gay, because men do not get her. She said that she felt straight guys misunderstood her and simply wanted sex from her, before admitting that she's more comfortable with gay men. However, "there was only that one problem," she said and continued, "which is that [gay men] didn't want to have sex with me!'
