Apple Bringing Force Touch to iPhones

Apple is reportedly bringing its force touch technology from the Taptic Engine to the next iPhone.
Apple announced the Taptic Engine last year that allows a computer to understand the difference between a tap and a "force touch".
These different taps create different functions. For instance, a small tap will open an app but a force touch will allow the user to move the app.

It gets past the idea a user needs to press down for a few seconds. Instead, the Watch will know what the user wants to do through the force on the tap.
At the event earlier this week, Apple announced the Taptic Engine on the trackpad of the new 12-inch MacBook. The engine will also be coming to the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro in the next iteration.
This makes it extremely likely Apple is fitting the Taptic Engine in all iDevices, including the iPhone and iPad. Reports say Apple could fit the force touch sensor as soon as the iPhone 6S arrives later this year.
The force touch is still in its early steps and it's clear Apple needs more refinements to make sure it understands the tap. It might even take implementing some AI onto the software to learn from the user's taps and personalize the Taptic Engine.
Even with the lack of refinement, Apple is clearly focused on bringing the Taptic Engine to all of its devices. The iPhone is the signature device and with reports a 3D display could be coming to the iPhone 7, it might be worthwhile to start early with force touch on the iPhone 6S.
