Fifty Shades of Grey was a huge box office success, earning over more than US$500 million dollars worldwide, which is why it should not come as a surprise that the film's stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are seeking for a huge increase to star in the sequels "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."

A few weeks ago, rumors about Dornan seriously considering pulling out of the series made their rounds online. But a representative for the 32-year old actor quickly clarified the rumors and said that Jamie is extremely happy with the box office success of the film, adding that although the studio has not released an official announcement regarding the sequels, Dornan is still game on continuing his portrayal of Christian Grey and the studio should already expect that Dornan's camp, as well as Johnson's will surely negotiate the hell out of them.

This isn't really an unanticipated move. The stars reportedly only earned US$250,000 each for the first movie and they sure can follow Jennifer Lawrence's lead and ask for a raise. When Lawrence starred in the first movie of the Hunger Games trilogy, she reportedly only made US$500,00, but she was able to increase her paycheck to US$10 million to do Catching Fire.

Not everyone is expecting the same success from the sequels, though. Filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson has dropped out of the movie due to being in constant conflict with the trilogy's author, E.L. James, as well as screenwriter Kelly Marcel.

While the future of the sequels is uncertain, rumors are the Fifty Shades Darker won't begin filming until 2016.
