Life for Eva Mendes may seem perfect, she just gave birth to a very beautiful baby and has a gorgeous boyfriend whom everyone adores. Unfortunately, not everything is roses and sunshine for the actress.  It was revealed on Wednesday that Eva is extremely "devastated" after she learned that her brother Carlos has cancer.

A source close to the family described Eva as "family-oriented," which is the reason why the news was absolutely devastating to her.

Eva is currently doing everything she can just to support her brother. She's making sure that Carlos gets well taken care of by top doctors even if that means using her check book.

She first talked about Carlos having the disease at the "Stand Up To Cancer" event, managed by Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth, held last January. 

Speaking to the audience, the new mom announced at the event that she was there with her family and Carlos, who just had just undergone treatment.

And while she's been busy looking after her brother, Eva, never fails to look stunning. She graces the April cover of Women's Health magazine, looking extremely healthy and fit after giving birth to daughter, Esmeralda, six months ago. In the interview for the magazine, she revealed that despite having not enough sleep, she enjoys it because it gives her the chance to bond with her daughter.

Regarding giving advice to new moms, Eva said that she'd hold back doing so for now, as she feels like she doesn't have the right yet to give advice. She said that she wants to respect other mothers, whom she said might be like, "You know what? You're a few months in. Just shut up."'

Eva and Ryan are among Hollywood's most famous couples but they have been successfully able to keep their private life private and their daughter away from the prying eyes of the media.

Esmeralda Amada is the beautiful couple's first child together. They started dating in 2011.
