Ed Sheeran's girlfriend has told the singer to stay away from Taylor Swift. Athena Andrelos has grown impatient of the closeness of the two singers despite being the girlfriend of Sheeran.

According to Yahoo News, a source told OK! Magazine "It's incredibly awkward for Ed, because Athena doesn't want Taylor anywhere near them or their social circle." Sheeran has been an avid supporter of the American singer and that makes it even harder for him to shy away from Swift's company.

Sheeran's closeness with Swift has allowed them to record a duet together titled "Everything Has Changed" and it was also during that time that he freely saw Swift outside of their circle. However, Swift's elaborate speech and thank you's to Sheeran during the London Awards raised red flags to Andrelos. In her short speech, Swift said, "Honestly, I know I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for one of my best friends who took me to pubs and taught me how to make a good cup of tea and taught me everything I know about the UK. I just want to say, I love you Ed Sheeran."

Speculations that started about Swift not being welcome in Sheeran and Andrelos' circle, source say that Sheeran's busy schedule is also threatening his relationship to Andrelos. According to the Mirror, the start of the relationship early last year was smooth sailing until Sheeran sold millions of records and made endless guesting and appearances that affected their relationship.

One of Sheeran's friends was quoted saying, "Things haven't been as good and Ed has just headed off on a world tour which will keep them apart for months." Sheeran's busy schedule includes his current Japan and China performances, after which, he will head off to Australia at the end of the month, New Zealand, South America, the United States and finally Canada.
