Wu's flourishing career has totally been destroyed after the discovery following President Xi Jinping's major campaign against pornography and corruption.

Reports said Wu, 63, was once the star of the Communist Party and studied in the prestigious Peking University. He became a country governor in one of the provinces at the age of 33.

Wu reportedly became hungry for money and power, amassing millions in ill-gotten wealth which he used in purchasing 34 real estate properties and pornographing materials.Reports said Wu gifted his wife with expensive jewelries and collected pricey watches and valuable paintings.

Reports said corruption investigators have found enough evidence to charge Wu for alleged corruption and other crimes.

Reports said the investigators seized some 2,000 bundles of money, several gold and silver bars and expensive paintings in one of his 34 properties.

The Beijing News reported that Wu could not have bought all those properties and assets with his meager salary. It will take him more than 300 years before he could even buy his assets, reports said.

Investigators seized more than 100 pornographic films and materials under a Buddha statue in one of the rooms in his properties which he devoted to Buddhist worship.

China has been relentless in its campaign against corruption and pornography, arresting and charging one of China's popular journalists last Friday for alleged corruption.

Television host Rui Chenggang was arrested hours before he was to deliver the news on television last Friday. Investigators said Rui's lifestyle--wearing Zegna suits and driving a Jaguar--smacks of corruption. and he is now being investigated.
