TripAdvisor, one of the world's largest travel sites, has announced the winners of the Traveler's Choice Awards for Amusement Parks and Water Parks today. Universal Studios Singapore tops this survey in Asia while Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida landed first globally.

Across the globe, 242 winners were identified. Those theme parks included in the top 25 are from Asia, Europe, India, Canada, South America, The UK, The US and South Pacific.

The chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor Barbara Messing announced that travelers who are in search for outdoor entertainment should look no further with regards to the list released today. She adds that there are a wide variety of activities for kids and to those who are young at heart and adrenaline junkies.

The list was based on millions of reviews and comments from members of the site, which they narrowed down to the top travel spots that everyone is advised to visit at one point in their life. This was done over the course of 12 months.

Universal Studios Singapore was able to rank 8^th all over the world and has been named as the top amusement park in Asia. It has been voted the best Amusement Park and Water Park leaving Hong Kong's Ocean Park, Tokyo's DisneySea and Disneyland behind.

It's the only Amusement Park in Asia that was recognized and included in the top 10 listing globally. However, Wild Wild Wet, which is also in Singapore, was ranked 9^th as one of the best water parks in Asia.

John Hallenbeck, the Senior Vice President of Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, issued in an announcement, "At Universal Studios Singapore, we take pride in delivering the best experience for all our guests as they Ride the Movies. We are very thankful to TripAdvisor travellers for their continuous support, making Southeast Asia's first and only Hollywood movie theme park the top amusement park in Asia."
