Xbox One owners that are EA Access members at the same time will have the privilege of playing Battlefield: Hardline earlier. They can play the game today for a maximum of 10 hours.

Gamers, in particular console owners, have expressed concern over the low resolution of the upcoming game.

Visceral issued a statement saying that in order to make it possible for Battlefield: Hardline to play 60 FPS, the developer will release the game at 900 pixel resolution for the PS 4 and 720 pixels for the Xbox One.  A 60 FPS is basically the minimum framerate required for shooter games.

Low resolution doesn't automatically translate into poor quality games but it's a significant basis used by gamers in their choice of consoles. According to survey conducted by Nielsen, better resolution was the number one consideration why gamers prefer to buy a PS 4 rather than an Xbox One or a Wii U.

The resolution factor does seem to have some merit since a lot more people are buying PS 4 consoles than Xbox One or Wii U.

A number of games earlier released on the PS 4 could reach 1080 pixel resolution while Xbox One only manages 720 to 900 pixels.  Recently, both consoles began featuring the same resolution on multiplatform games but the notion of PS 4's resolution superiority over Xbox One remains.

There are other factors that might affect the sales of Battlefield: Hardline, aside from the low resolution.

Gamer response to the upcoming launch seems to be lukewarm. Battlefield: Hardline is the second installment of the series but there seems to be little difference from the original, other than being "cops versus robbers" themed rather than a military one.
