What’s Going on at the Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2015 in Shanghai?

The Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) is an annual exhibition gathering leading local and international appliance and consumer electronics companies.
It was organized by China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA).
At this year's AWE event held in Shanghai, more than 550 companies are unveiling their products. CHEAA expect around 100,000 visitors at the event.

"Over the recent years, the home appliance industry has made great efforts to transform and upgrade by shifting from quantity-oriented growth to benefit-oriented growth," said Xu Dongsheng, Secretary General of CHEAA, before the expo.
"The industry achieved a total profit of 93 billion yuan (US$15 billion), seeing a year-on-year increase of 18.4 percent." Dongsheng added.
Qihoo 360 Technology Co. Ltd., the largest internet security firm in China, established a large exhibition stand themed "Smart Life".
According to a report, the internet security company intends to invest US$1.6 billion to develop a smart home eco-system.
Japanese electronics industry company Panasonic Corporation is displaying its latest air purifiers at the exhibition.
Panasonic's air purifier features six air purifying systems; pre-filter, HEPA composite filer, active Carbone odorizing filter, deform aldehyde filter, humidifying filter and nanoeTM.
Chinese consumer electronics company Haier Group unveiled the world's first 3D printed air conditioner at the AWE 2015. Haier said it plans to launch a customizable air conditioner that will allow users to customize its design including its function.
Chinese electrical appliance manufacturer Midea Group established a booth with the theme "M.Smart", showcasing smart electronic devices.
U.S.-based advanced technology company iRobot Corporation is also present at the event. iRobot was established by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) roboticists in 1990.
It designs and develops autonomous robots such as its home vacuum cleaner called Roomba, and also military and police robots such as the PackBot.
