Is Chris Martin with Kate Hudson now? A recently single Kate Hudson was spotted hanging out at the beach with Gwyneth Paltrow's ex-husband Chris Martin in Malibu, California, along with their children.

The unusual pair was seen smiling and laughing on the shore, while Kate sported a colorful bikini and Chris wore a black and grey wetsuit.

Coldplay's lead vocalist seemingly had a blast riding some waves, as the "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" actress basked in the sunshine while she observed from the shore. Kate brought along his two sons, Bing and Ryder and played with Martin and Gwyneth's children Apple and Moses. After a fun-filled day at the beach, the big group went to dinner together.

While many might wonder if they are together, what appears to be clear is that there is no indication, whatsoever that the trip was romantic, in fact, it seems to be just a play date for the kids. After the 38-year old singer divorced Gwyneth, he reportedly has since been in an on-off relationship with the "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence.

As for Kate, she was engaged to Muse's front man Matt Bellamy but decided to break off their engagement in December of last year. After the break up, she had a short-lived romance with Julianne Hough's brother Derek Hough.

Kate met Chris through Gwyneth, with whom she has a close relationship with. In an interview for Harper's Bazaar magazine back in 2012, Kate expressed her admiration for Gwyneth, "I look up to Gwyneth and how she has been in her life. She's the real deal," she said.

Kate and Gwyneth are long-time friends.
