Microsoft hasn't released any official announcement for the next "Gears of War" after buying the game series' Intellectual Property rights from Epic Games last January.
In December 2014, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, hinted about the ongoing development of the game sequel tagging Black Tusk on his post. He tweeted, "Great day yesterday with @blacktuskstudio and @GearsViking, always inspiring. Team is making massive progress."

Rod Ferguson, Studio Manager at Black Tusk Studios also tweeted that same day and seemed to be happy.
"And Gears 2 did well, Gears 3 did well. So I thought the franchise continued to grow. But we've talked about getting back to something ... I think the story and the setting and what they're going through ... in a Gears of War--the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We've got to get back to that," said Spencer, Christian Post reported.
Gears of War 4 is one of this year's most anticipated games. It was first released in 2006 exclusively for Xbox 360 and was later made available for PC in 2007.
Its second and third installment was released 2008 and 2011, respectively, and also did well in the market. On the other hand, Gears of War: Judgement was released in 2013.
Gears of War is a sci-fi military video game. The game's spotlight is about the conflict between humans and the Locust Horde and their mutated counterpart, the Lambent.
Fans of the Gears of War game series are expecting to hear an announcement from Microsoft and Black Tusk about the release of their future game in Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 this June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
