Users can now have peace of mind with a smartphone called "Blackphone."
Blackphone is considered the first smartphone designed specifically for privacy and security. It went on sale this week at US$629.
SGP Technologies, developer of Blackphone, built a smartphone that provides encryption for emails, texts, phone calls and Internet browsing. It collaborated with GeeksPhone, Spanish phone maker, and communications security company, Silent Circle to create the final product.

In size, Blackphone hovers between a Samsung Galaxy S6 and an iPhone 5S.
SGP claims Blackphone is more secure than an average smartphone. It recommends the phone for businessmen, companies and reporters that need a to have tough security on their phones.
Blackphone runs a modified version of Android called PrivatOS, which is said to be more convenient to use when it comes to security.
Users of Blackphone can use the Amazon App Store to get Twitter or Netflix and make their smartphone more functional.
The PrivateOS lets a user choose specific permissions for each app he wants to install.
After installaing and opening an app, a screen called App Permission Details will appear. Users need to select whether they will allow access to contacts, locations, messages, call logs, and more.
Users can encrypt all their data on the phone. Blackphone also comes with secure communications tools that include private calling and messaging services provided by Silent Security.
Private and anonymous searching and browsing are also offered on Blackphone.
Blackphone is only available as an unlocked device that works with the use of GSM technology similar to that used only on T-Mobile and AT&T.
Blackphone, however, does not come with any Google service on its operating system since Google isn't endorsing PrivatOS. Interested buyers won't see the Google Play store or maps and other fun stuff offered by Google.
Blackphone's selling point is the lack of Google services. SGP believes users will dig the idea because it can be a refreshing change for them.
