South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy has threatened to get a court order to gain access to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails if she does not agree to a voluntary review.
Another options is for Clinton to turn over her private email server to an outside arbiter. However, if she refuses, again, going to court is a recourse of the Republicans, reports Bloomberg.

Gowdy said on a Fox News program that he does not trust that the lawyers of Clinton would determine what the public should and should not know about the former secretary's emails.
Any subpoena to be issued by the House committee that is going over the use of Clinton of a private email while serving as the top diplomat of the U.S. could require legal action. Still, another option is to subpoena her computer so the House could check if she hid messages that contain government business.
Gowdy said he hopes it does not come to that point as he admitted there would always be a legal question of a House subpoena holding up in court.
But Aziz Huq, University of Chicago professor of constitutional law, opined that there is no reason why the House cannot subpoena the records of a public official still in her possession. Although subpoenas could be issued by the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, those issued by a full congressional body are usually given greater weight by courts, he explains.
According to Clinton, she has turned over to the State Department 30,490 work-related emails and deleted 32,830 other emails that are personal such as wedding planning and yoga routines.
She explained that she worked using her personal account because it was more convenient for her, reports LA Times.
Gowdy said he needs a full House vote to get Clinton's equipment because of the panel's lack of authority to subpoena her server.
