The real life adaptation of Cinderella may have followed the successful snowy path of the movie 'Frozen' and is definitely the new 'Belle of the Box Office'.
The movie earned $70.1 million in North America according to studio estimates, follows a traditional and realistic portrayal of the fairytale directed by Kenneth Branagh, which stars Lily James as the lead actress, Mercury News reports.

The movie was boosted with a 'Frozen' short, along with 'Frozen Fever' that aired right before the movie started.
The audience is still carried away by the impact created by Princess Elsa and Anna, whose upcoming sequel was recently announced.
Also Disney's real life adaptations such as 'Maleficent' and 'Alice in Wonderland' were box office hits so it is definitely inevitable that 'Cinderella' will definitely follow the trail with matching glass slippers.
Though Cinderella has left the audience astonished with its real life portrayal, more movies are coming with a similar theme such as 'Beauty and The Beast', 'Dumbo' and 'The Jungle Book'.
"There is seemingly a lot of appetite for these stories to be told, I think in part, because many of them have a female protagonist and we've seen there's significant box-office success that can come by featuring female driven stories," said Dave Hollis, Disney's head of distribution.
"Frozen Fever was certainly part of why we're seeing the kind of success that we did this weekend. In and itself, Cinderella is absolutely a great standalone experience. But it ends up being a one-plus-one-equals three thing for the consumer," he further added.
The majority of the viewers of Disney movies are 66 percent female, according to Disney.
"Disney is just a well oiled machine that is firing on all cylinders right now," said Paul Dergarbedian, senior media analyst for box-office data firm Rentrak.
"It's about this Disney umbrella which encompasses these incredible crown jewel brands they have. Cinderella is just the latest example," he further added.
