Game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has announced "Star Wars Battlefront" will be released in December 2015.

Game developer DICE video a promotional video showing how its staff immersed themselves in Star Wars culture and has shown some indication as regards the progress of the game.

Star Wars fans are excited about a rumor that EA will let them get a glimpse of the SW Battlefront gameplay.  The publisher may present it at the Star Wars Convention or at E3.

Many hope EA will show it at the Star Wars Celebration to be held at Anaheim, California on April 16 to 19.  There is basis for that hope since EA is one of the chosen exhibitors in the convention.

It makes sense to showcase Star Wars Battlefront in Anaheim since the place is filled with devoted fans that eagerly anticipates the release of the game.

So far, the only thing we know about Star Wars Battlefront is that it's a first-person and multiplayer shooter game. Gamers will be given the chance to relive scenes from the Star Wars Universe or create their own.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be released for the Windows PC, Xbox One and PS 4.   

Interestingly, the game will be released at around the same time as a Star Wars movie from Disney. The Force Awakens is the first installment in a trilogy and will be shown on December 18.

The Star Wars franchise was bought by Disney for US$4 billion. The installment of the trilogy is scheduled to be shown in May 2017.  Between the two installments, Disney plans to release a separate movie titled Star Wars: Rogue One.

EA signed an agreement with Disney to become the exclusive publisher of all Star Wars game titles.
