(Photo : Reuters) Kraft macaroni and cheese products are seen on the shelf at a grocery store in Washington, May 3, 2012.
Kraft Foods is recalling about 6.5 million boxes of its Macaroni and Cheese after metal fragments were found inside some of the boxes.
The batch covers 242,000 cases of the original flavor of Macaroni and Cheese and carried the code of "C2" at the bottom. Those affected by the recall were sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico and some Caribbean and South American countries, and have a "use by" date ranging from September 18, 2015 to October 11, 2015.

The recall applies to those in 7.25-ounce boxes which were sold individually. The others were in packs of three, four and five.
In a statement, Kraft expressed its deep regrets and apologies to consumers who have been affected by the product recall. In its notice, Kraft said eight consumers reported finding metal fragments, but assures there were no reports of any injuries.
"Consumers who purchased this product should not eat it," the company's recall notice said.
Kraft also urged those who have purchased the affected products to immediately return them to the store where they bought them for a full refund.
Kraft said no other varieties, pasta shapes, package size, or code other than "C2" were affected by the recall.
In May last year, Kraft recalled 1.2 million cases of some of its cottage cheese products. The company said some ingredients used in making their cottage cheese were not stored in proper temperature.
In June 2014, Kraft pulled out another kind of its cheese products --- this time the Velveeta Cheese. About 260 cases of Velveeta cheese were recalled because it did not contain enough of the needed preservative which could lead to premature spoilage.
The company also recalled over seven thousand cases of Kraft American Singles in August due to storage issue.
Kraft Foods is one of North America's largest consumer packaged food and beverage companies. It is the maker of popular brands such as Kraft, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Maxwell House, Planters and Velveeta.
