The Happy Mask Salesman was recently interviewed on Miiverse and dropped strong hints about him making an appearance in a new Zelda game.

In the Miiting, the Happy Mask Salesman said that "it wouldn't be a stretch" if he appears in a new upcoming Zelda game. He also announced he has a number of new masks available and that everyone will be happy if he ever makes an appearance.

Unfortunately, he was quite vague about the new Zelda game in which he may make an appearance.  He didn't mention any name. Speculation, however, points to either an inclusion in a DLC pack for Hyrule Warriors or the upcoming Zelda game in Wii U, which is scheduled to be launched this 2015.

The Happy Mask Salesman appeared in the 2011 game, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. 

Still, others are speculating the possibility of a new Zelda game that has yet to be announced.  Pundits are zeroing in on a quote by the Happy Mask Salesman saying, "I've got some new masks, too." 

Some people are pushing the idea the Happy Mask Salesman is actually hinting at a Majora's Mask sequel, especially since he's one of the most identifiable characters of the game.  

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was released in 2011 but is still the most popular game title for the Nintendo 3DS.  It's actually a classic Zelda game made for the Nintendo 64 system 15 years ago. It has been remade both in the graphics and gameplay.

Majora's Mask is very different from other Legend of Zelda games. 

The storyline is gloomy and has a dark background. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time shows the hero defeating his evil enemy. 

Majora's Mask forces its players to repeatedly witness the death of the world.
